Prof. Rhea Alexander
Design Strategist, Innovation Management Consultant and Author
Rhea Alexander is an Assistant Professor of Strategic Design & Management in the School of Design Strategies (SDS) who served as Assoc. Director for the undergraduate BBA Strategic Design and Management Program (2020) and Co-director for the MS Strategic Design and Management program (2016-18). She is an affiliate faculty at the Tishman Environment and Design Center and part of the Platform Cooperativism Consortium.
As the founder and director of Parsons Elab, Alexander created an innovative interdisciplinary space where external partners, students, faculty, and alums can collaborate on entrepreneurship initiatives exploring the intersection of design, technology, equity, and business. The Elab conducts research, publishes, provides resources, incubator programs, workshops, panel discussions and connections to the greater innovation ecosystem, and has helped launch successful ventures since its inception. Through her teaching and mentorship, she has encouraged a new generation of more inclusive and responsible entrepreneurs to use their businesses as forces for good.

Design Strategist &Interdisciplinary Designer
Fulya Turkmenoglu is a multidisciplinary design strategist, compliance consultant, and entrepreneur with over a decade of leadership experience across design, healthcare, and global business. She is the founder of New Design Lab, providing design strategy and compliance solutions for companies entering the U.S. market, and JAIYOU Medical and Sports Medicine Supplies, recognized at the Health 2.0 Conference and awarded a fellowship by the Parsons Entrepreneurial Lab (Parsons Elab).
Educated at the Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons School of Design, Fulya earned the Senior Thesis Collection Award for pioneering sustainable luxury pattern-making. She combines this creative expertise with four years of U.S. compliance consulting, helping international ventures navigate regulatory frameworks and build strategic brands.
Continuing her law education in the UK, Fulya is expanding her global strategic expertise. She is also the author of the upcoming book, Dance with the Waves: Tactics to Lead in Business and Life Strategically, offering insights on leadership, decision-making, and resilience.
Recognized as one of the most influential people by Gladys Magazine, she continues to inspire innovation, mentor emerging entrepreneurs, and drive meaningful change across design, healthcare, and global business initiatives.
